Summer Catch Up / Archived Film!!

Hi friends!!! It has been so long since I've last written...my summer in Brooklyn has been pretty much all work so I finally found time to make a post! Just a quick update: I am currently in Brooklyn working two internships for the summer! NYC in the summer feels lively, but I definitely haven't had as much time to enjoy the season as usual. Still, NYC holds a beautiful charm. Moving to Brooklyn has been another gift I feel so grateful for. It enabled me to get out of the claustrophobic confinement of downtown Manhattan and experience a new community in Williamsburg. Here it feels more neighborhood-like, with cornerstone delis and familiar baristas, and I soak it up. I have moved around a bit the past few years, so having a sense of comfort in such a new place is a happy gift for me. Nonetheless, it is coming and going as in less than a month I will leave the newly found ease of my Williamsburg home for another city. I always depart with such bittersweet gratitude, but I am ready for the next chapter.

Anyway, I wanted to focus a bit more on my film this entry. I really haven't had as much time to write as I had hoped, but I think going with the change of my life and passions is important to me, too -- and this summer, film has been more on the forefront. Film has allowed me to explore God's beauty even deeper through the wonder of art. I am in no way an expert, as I only took one film developing class Freshman year, but even so, I find my awe in the world God has created even more behind the lens of my 35mm. Here are some of my favorites from this year that I don't think I have shared yet.

London/Paris:

Giselle and Fifi!!!
Boarding the flight from Portugal to London!!

First night in London with yummy takeout on the ground of our idyllic flat.

Finally reunited with our bestie, Trisha and stuffing our faces with croissants and pastries!!

Wandered into a volunteer cafe for Jewish orphanages. Their kindness and welcoming spirit reminded me of my family, as singing and dancing never ceased. Happenstancely, my new flat in Paris is on the end of this street... so I will be back soon!

NY/LI:

Springtime near Battery Park.

My favorite reading spot in Battery!!

The warm lobster roll and hot waiter at Claudio's did not disappoint.

Sunday morning bodega grub.

The two Nina's finally together in a photo!!

Cayman Islands:

Potentially the funniest film pic I've taken.

I fell asleep for three hours on the hammock pictured and woke up with a hand-shaped tan line on my chest.

Italy:

The beautiful view from our hotel in Positano!!

Annie -- bus buddy and the most genuine, loving friend.

The best squad!

You two hold my heart.

Costa Rica:

The one day our Costa Rica trip went as planned hahah.

It rained every hour, so our clothes never even dried.

Love y'all!

Nina
