semester wrap up!

Happy friday friends!! I hope everyone had a beautiful week, despite the chaos of the holidays, finals, and whatever else you may be treading. I am finally (almost) done with finals, and it feels so good. The feather-like weight of being able to do hobbies again makes me very, very thankful. Today, I wanted to do a little fun blog in honor of my favorite class this year: my poetry workshop. I definitely have been more keen to poetry this semester than I have maybe ever, and I plan on keeping it close to me. However, I do want to shift my focus to short stories, fiction, and other mediums next semester, so I wanted to take a moment of appreciation for the growth I have felt within my poetry writing. I am going to share a small poem book I wrote in high school. I was in the midst of heavy challenges in my relationships, and it was a great outlet for me. I have never really showed anyone this, as it was super personal to me at the time. However, now I feel as though it is a great scale to see 1) how far my writing as come 2) the beauty within growth and development 4) the importance of change within identity and self-confidence 5) to really just laugh at the ridiculousness of some (MOST) of these poems... It is definitely a hard one to read through for me because the quality is low and I am extremely critical, but I thought this would be a good out of my comfort zone, hilarious piece of my work to share from a time in my life that seems so long faded away. Enjoy! Have a lovely holiday, as well. Each and every one of you are so close to my heart, and I am always just a text, email, or DM away. ILY.

(also the formatting on the pdf gets a little messed up because I had to convert it, just an FYI)

Deep love,

Nina Lee
