Happy Monday. It is currently 34 and snowing in Manhattan, the kind of snow that doesn't stick, but instead makes the sidewalks damp and slippery. However, the falling snow is another kind of beautiful that I didn't realize I loved so deeply. Today, I am getting a little personal with you all and sharing a journal post from when I had moved to New York and lived in Brooklyn for a bit. I was SO incredibly amazed by everything I saw, and I really still am, but reading this back definitely makes me a cringe a little bit, so enjoy the entertainment. But, most importantly, this journal entry was something that made romanticizing my life a gift, and I am really thrilled to share it with you!

Saturday mornings in Brooklyn are a renewed joy. People feeling outgoing and happy, letting the warm weather stir up their soul. As I walked to a little cafe on Hoyt St., the families, young (& cute) boys, and the simple beauty lingering in the air makes me want to walk around till I'm drenched with sweat from the humidity. The deep colors of the brownstones give me the feeling of fall creeping up. I love Autumn. The earthy tones of Brooklyn are yearning for fall, a new season of rebirth. My morning feels so glass half full, despite not meeting many (or any) people, not knowing my neighborhood, or being fully moved in yet.
As night crept up, I went out with my sweetest new friend, Kim. She works as a detective in the city, so I was able to explore her office and meet her co-workers... a dream! As we walked from her office to the nearest Italian restaurant, the conversation was full of laughs and comfort. Entering the back patio to the restaurant was a trip in itself: the wood, simple fairy lights, bridge over an abundance of plants. Definitely coming back to this hidden gem!
Thanking Jesus for the happy Saturdays in Brooklyn<3

Such a great read. Thanks for sharing these glimpses into your life and learning in NYC.
The way you described Brooklyn sent my mind straight to one of my favorite movies! “ You’ve Got Mail” the scene when Tom Hanks takes his aunt and brother to the fall festival and then to the quaint book store! Beautiful entry sweetie! ❤️
Love seeing Brooklyn through your eyes. 👏🏾🧡
